One of the most common questions before buying a Bang Bang EG figure isn't about the character or the color — it's about size. Both 30cm and 40cm are hand-cast from the same sculpt, so the choice comes down to a few practical things worth thinking through before you order.

What actually changes between sizes

The proportions and details stay faithful to the original sculpt at both sizes — 30cm isn't a "smaller, simplified" version of 40cm. What changes is presence: at 40cm, details like Monitor's brass suit finishing or Lumi's scale texture read more clearly from a distance, simply because there's more surface to work with.

Display space is the real deciding factor

A 40cm figure needs meaningful shelf depth and clearance — it's a centerpiece piece, not something that blends into a crowded shelf. If you're building out a collection of multiple characters in one space, 30cm lets you display more pieces together without any one of them overwhelming the others.

Edition size differs by option

Within Series 01, the 30cm size generally has a larger production run than 40cm for the same character and colorway — for example, Monitor comes in 16 pieces at 30cm versus 9 at 40cm. If rarity within a specific size matters to you as a collector, checking the individual piece count for the size you want is worth doing before you decide.

There's no wrong answer

Some collectors prioritize having a larger, more commanding piece as a centerpiece; others prefer being able to collect more characters within the same display footprint. Both are equally valid ways to build a collection — the right size is whichever fits the space and the collecting style you actually have.
